Tell Your Story | Foxy Art Journal

Another one of Elsies fab posts about old books. I went scouring the bookshop again and found this old book that i would be happy painting over the cover and on the inside.. its all about fish curing which i have no interest in and its old, been burnt on the corners and is perfect. I love it!! Although the paint i was using at the start wasnt oil based so it didnt really make it as creamy as i wanted!

I love him being a lil fox :)

My Inside Cover :) I had so much fun doodling with my sharpies... that day i decided to organise all the tubs of pens i had and discovered i owned more markers than i thought! So it was sharpie heaven :p

This was one of Elsies prompts from her little journal and like her I have decided to keep this one for myself i think and do a bit more reflective journalling so i might not share as many pages from this bad boy.

I have done another page in this journal and I think i might get out my paint brush and start prepping some pages etc and doing doodles on the bookpage. Im really excited about this one :)

Tell Your Story | Fabric Covered Journal

This is the little class elsie did weeks ago about finding a book to cover with retro print fabric.. something easy to journal in. So i went noseying around the bookshop last week and i found a book on Kisses.. its a little photo book full of quotes and its very small and square - perfect for the handbag BUT the finish on the pages only accepts sharpies and paint pens. Its even a little strange for biros.

I absolutely LOVE this fabric, i dont even remember where i got it but i want a cushion made out of it. I have enough left for a cushion but i wouldnt trust it not to get ruined in this house!

I went a bit nuts with the sharpies and paint pens with the inner cover! I also used washi tape to secure it to the inner cover although it was glue. This was actually my second attempt at covering - i used spray adhesive first time which dried yellow and tacky through the fabric. It was a disaster! A stinky disaster.

The photos in the book are so cute.. thats a little girl kissing a teddy bear!

Im on the lookout for thinner nibbed paint pens as the sharpies dont work as well on the darker part of black and white photos!

 This is my favourite page!

I really want to add stickers and different coloured doodles but im waiting for pens of different nib points as i think this white is a bit thick - but the thinest i have.

This man freaked me out lots! I was just doodling around the photographs but i have done a little reflection journaling on some pages which i will update soon!

TYS and Catalogue Swap?

I got all caught up on my shooting this week but two of my pages havent been posted because the photos werent good! I will take better ones honest!

This prompt was all about throwing a party.. perfect excuse to look at more party pictures!! I love Kylies dress and little top hat. Incredibly girly :)

This is to do with tissue paper and a simple note about my day!

This was from one of the earlier books Rachel and Elsie did from their Happier Times when they were young.. i used this prompt but decided now is the happiest time.

Simple pattern paper and washi tape. Its hard to see but the card paper is polka dot and a pale lemon colour. Two other pages were... one of fabric and stitiching and about taking my own advice! I shall get shooting once the weather improves!

Also...Is anyone interested in a Catalogue Swap?

Toast UK have obviously made some sort of crazy error on their website - i signed up for their catalogues for my catalogue journal that i made ---

I cut up and used both fashion and home catalogues that they sent.. but over the past week they keep coming through the door!

So i have TWO of the home magazines (blue covers) the pictures can be seen in my Catalogue Journal post :)

Does anyone want to swap a catalogue for a Toast UK catalogue? Please leave a comment here if you are interested in the swap and I will get in touch! Im after catalogues from the US or Europe (because i cant get them here in the UK) like Urban Outfitters or free people etc.

Tell Your Story | Catalogue Journal

This is part of the TYS class.. one of the bonus classes. I have made a few books like this before but never with these types of catalogues - i had been using magazines and newspapers before. I really liked the cover.. it just so happened that the catalogue arrived in the post monday morning so i got crafting.

I really love how the cover turned out!! I used white paint pens and some sharpies to get these doodly effects.

I had no idea how to start this journal so i just started to journal whatever came into my head..

all mostly relating to the photographs already on the journal and the colours there.

This is one of my fave pages - below, its an image from a Toast Catalogue.. they ended up sending me four catalogues.. ive no idea why..

Again, just random journalling that came in to my head relating to the day. I pretty much spent the entire day catching up on the diy journal classes.

I havent finished this page below, im going to keep adding and layering.. possibly printing or taking photos next time I bake.

I absolutely love these tiles and the photo of it is gorgeous.

The end picture of the womans hand on the curtain was perfect for the ending.. this bit was where my address was so i covered it with the heart :)

Dream Interiors | Patchwork Love

I Love Patchwork... recently I posted about Jenny Bond Interiors that I found at a craft fair... she did an amazing patchwork lamp.... My original post is here

The lamp...

I freakin love it!! Then today I saw on Decor8 blog... catching up on her posts about Squint.. I love her post! it inspired me to look at everything patchworky...

Look at that!! I LOVE that sofa!!! In a white room.. its just perfect. This was seen on Flickr on Erin Williamsons stream, I didnt link because it isnt her image and she didnt credit the original photographer. If anyone knows who shot this or the stylist please let me know so i can credit properly! I love the colouful lamp there too!

This is the Squint sofa and i love the cushion lining too!! I want to get this crappy sofa in my house reupholstered BUT it came with the rental property (its horrible and hiding under a giant throw) AND it would cost more money than i have in my whole world.

Holy craps its a bed!! Its a BED!!! i want it! By Squint :)

I absolutely LOVE the lamps and the dresser (fourth image). I have no idea how anyone would style a room with a dresser like this... I know about creating a focal piece of furniture.. and making the sofa a focal point is easy.. a dresser.. not so much... How would you guys style a room with a patchwork dresser? Even in a hallway it would possible i think... with a fab retro phone.

The chandellier and the sofa is amazing...

I love the mirror on the first image and the third patchwork sofa... so many choices with patchwork sofas!! I need to learn how to reupholster furniture..

you can even get patchwork Trays and oven mits! from Rice DK!

I love this room!! Seen on Dailymail.co.uk, I dont know who designed this room btu I know that sewing box is from Greengate. I want to redecorate! Right now...

Tell Your Story | Best Friends | Change | Hidden Messages

This is more catch up work!! I actually finished this best friends piece on saturday but it was so nice outside i didnt have any interest in shooting it!! I wanted to be out in the sunshine :)

This is the Change is Good page... nothing has really changed with me recently so i journalled what i want to change.
This is inspired by Journal Girl - Samantha Kiras paint work.

This was the Hidden messages page.. you had to write things and then cover em up with paint. I think im still layering this up! Waiting on the white paint to dry and still thinking of what to put on top.
