Time for some art journal inspiration!! Some of you may not have read but recently I decided that I should probably start using up some of my notebooks that I have.. and I have many. I have several A4 ones that I just *had* to buy because of their covers. Two of which (maybe even 3) are by Pip Studio. I don't like working in A4 format, even at school I hate it and A5 is my favourite size, also spiral bound. So lord knows why I bought an A4 stapled Orla Kiely sketchbook.. of course... because it was Orla Kiely! Ive had it for about 2 years now and haven't touched it! I may deconstruct it and then put it back together using binding rings... I digress.. these thoughts all arrived after seeing a post on Dear Lizzy about her 2012 scrapbook...
I like this idea... I have some large envelopes from christmas cards that i kept so I could stick these in! I had a binding thingy for making these types of books. The name escapes me right now. Clip a something. A big pink job with large handles. I realised I don't need any more notebooks as Ive too many unused sitting on the shelf so I sold it.
This is so cute.. I have lots of lovely paper and I could use my lovely typewriter and stick things in. It's a free for all really when you aren't constrained by the fact that its flat. I also treated myself to an eyelet punch for like £1.96 with 100 brass eyelets so I think I shall be adding a more solid backing card to the rear of the cover and then elastic to keep it all together. I actually think I will be adding elastic to all my notebooks because I like to layer and things end up being huge ^_^
I love this black Chevron paper. Anyone know the brand?
I need to use my instax more. Definitely. I made up some 2012 goals but everyday I keep thinking of more and more things to add to it. I might do a little hunt around the inter web for some pre made pages - well.. I mean... prompts. That I can just fill in, like Elizabeth has done. So that the journalling won't take up loads and loads of time.. I can just fill in memories. Memory pages? Questionnaires?! What am I looking for?!
Using the instax a little (or large in my case) scrapbook could be filled up pretty quickly for the year and added too if i go buy binding rings now ^_^
Direct link to Elizabeths Mini book (there is also a ton of cute ideas for travel or quick scrapbooking - for her kids but can obviously be adapted! AND she is incredibly lovely which is also a nice surprise when you leave comments)
Are you journalling your year?
Have you ever journalled your whole year?
Lots of love Claire xo
